More on IE7

Details are emerging of Microsoft’s latest browser. From el Reg, we are told to expect:

  • Tabbed browsing
  • built in news aggregator
  • IDN support
  • security set at a lower level by default
  • simplified printing
  • limited CSS2 support

Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but weren’t other browsers at that stage about two years ago? Hell, Mozilla have already implemented and discontinued IDN support. So MS seem to be playing catchup.

Of course, they were also chasing nutscrape for a good while, so we can assume that they’ll do better in future. But for now, the future is looking good for every other browser.

Which is nice.
