I’m not 100%, but I think that, back when the dreaded gatso was introduced, there was something of a pledge given, along the lines of “these will no be put in place on motorways”.
I think that they must have been running out of normal roads that weren’t covered by the fucking cameras, so they’ve started to go for the really big bucks.
Oh, and lest we forget, the speed limit on motorways is, quite frankly, a joke. 70 miles an hour, on roads that can easily deal with 100, for cars that can easily deal with 100, with drivers that can wasily deal with 100.
