The real Ulster dialect

Some people say that Ulster-Scots is a language in it’s own right; some say that it’s nothing more than the local dialect, a mere subsection of English that is spoken over here.

It’s clearly not, because the soundtrack to this video is the real dialect of Norn Iron. Note, if you will, the steady ninety seconds of HOLY SHIT OH FUCK HOLY SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT.

Then you can read the BBC article about it. Gotta be one of the worlds great ‘oh shit’ moments. Especially when you realise that the camerman is in a crane pretty damn similar to the one in bits at the end…
