Getting to know a stomach

A little list shamelessly stolen from Mr du Toit. Because I’m tired and can’t be bothered with any of this “thinking” nonsense just now.

Where & what did you eat last night?
— Since it was Mammie’s Day, we drove her down to this place, and met up with the other sister down there. I had gammon. The driving to and from here is largely to blame for my tiredness.

Are you a good cook?
— Nope, not even a little bit. I’m so bad I don’t think I’d have qualified for the Tea Making badge had I been in Guides. Or a girl, for that matter.

What’s currently in your fridge?
— Foodwise: Not much, need to hit the shops soon. A little chicken, some mince, some spuds, cheese, pesto, Yop!. And a selection of beers and a bottle of wine or two.

Marmite?
— No. Not now, not ever.

Do you have a comfort food?
— Yes. I call it food.

What’s your favorite restaurant?
— I do like Gaze on the Ormeau Road, but I don’t know if I’d call it a favourite.

What was your memorable meal?
— They’ve all been memorable, in their own way.

Do you have a favorite food scene from the movies?
— The love scene from Hot Shots

What’s your favorite cinema snack?
— Sweet popcorn.

Raw fish?
— Only very, very rarely. As in, twice in twenty six years, and one of them was by accident.

What would your last meal be?
— Steak, champ, beans and a very large stein of been.

Which TV cook irritates you the most?

— Jamie “the cock” Oliver.
