Apparently there is astonishment and dismay in Whitehall, because a jury of 12 men a women didn’t buy the ‘make the facts fit the case’ prosecution that was brought in the case that caused us all to parade like prisoners on day release for the privilege of flying.

To those 12 people, I say thank you.

You may just have reminded the government that the case has to fit the facts, and that scaremongering and telling outright lies in the press does not count as a valid case for the prosecution.

To those in Whitehall who are astonished and dismayed: welcome to our world. Hell, if you add a little fear and a dollop of disbelieving, then you get the position that you fuckers have been putting us in for the last few years.
