I’d wondered where that went

Seven years of heading up to Carlisle Circus every day for school. That means seven years of heading up the road towards the old empty plinth in the centre of said roundabout. I knew that it had been build to hold a statue of Roarin’ Hugh Hanna; I knew that it had held that statue for a good many years until a minor case of civic redevelopment courtesy of the Provisionals.

I’d not known what happened to it. Until now. Apparently it’s still sitting in the corner of a random Belfast City Council shed.

Now, aren’t I glad that I finally found that out. Turns out that BBC Newsline is good for something…
